Your market, your sales motion
Define the businesses your fintech serves, qualify accounts against your offer and choose the outreach steps. A payments seller can target merchants rather than other fintechs.
Context that survives the handoff
Carry confirmed requirements and open questions into the next conversation. A new stakeholder can join the evaluation without asking the buyer to start again.
Build your fintech sales motion.

Build a merchant shortlist for your payments product
For a payments seller, the right list is merchants your product can serve. Start with the markets you support and the problem you solve. These made-up cases show what to ask before you assume a merchant needs help.
Build the list from the use case.
Choose businesses your offer can help. A payments seller needs a list of merchant accounts, not a list of other fintech companies.
Set the company type, markets and other facts that make an account fit. Research those accounts in a Table.
Check fit before you pay to find every contact. Keep needs you have not confirmed as questions for the first chat.
Give each person a business reason to reply.
Finance cares about matching payments to orders. The operations team cares about the process, and engineers need to know how it fits. Give each person a reason to join.
Find the right business and technical contacts. Add their details and check work email addresses.
Draft email and LinkedIn outreach from your offer and the account facts. Review the campaign before you start it.
Keep momentum when more people join the deal.
Bring a new person into the deal with the business case intact. Your team should be able to pick up the next step without asking the merchant to start again.
Link company and contact Records. Save agreed needs, open questions and the next action with the account.
Read supported replies in Messages. Assign the next step and keep the business and technical questions with their owners.
Illustrative account decisions
What you know
A retailer says it plans to open stores in Germany and France. Your product serves both markets. You do not yet know how it matches payments to orders.
What it means
The merchant fits your market. Growth gives you a reason to ask a question. It does not prove that finance has a payments problem.
What happens next
Save the source and date. Ask finance how it matches payments and orders across those markets before you describe a broken process.
What you know
A merchant fits your size and sector, but it plans to enter a market your product cannot serve.
What it means
Hold the account for this offer. A company that looks good on a list can still be a poor fit for what you sell.
What happens next
Record the market gap as the reason. Keep it out of contact lookup and this campaign so you do not pay to find people you cannot help.
What you know
Finance says the team matches some payments to orders by hand. A payments operations lead owns that process.
What it means
You have a real problem to explore and a person to bring in. You still need to ask how much work it takes and what a change would need.
What happens next
Keep the finance need and process owner on the same account. Agree which part to review and what the next chat should settle.
Give sales a merchant brief: domain, market fit, source and date, confirmed need, open finance question, process owner and next step. Check merchant fit first. Find contacts once it clears the gate.

Is this for selling to fintechs or selling a fintech product?
This page is for the GTM team selling a fintech product. The account list follows the businesses you serve: merchants for a payments product, for example, or software companies for a billing product. Define the operating problem and the company characteristics that make your offer relevant. OXYGEN helps research those accounts and the people around the purchase; the seller’s industry does not automatically define the prospect list.
Can we target businesses by an operating problem?
Start with observable account characteristics that make the problem plausible: business model, markets served, expansion, technology or relevant hiring. Research the evidence in a Table and keep its source so sellers can decide where to focus. The research helps frame a useful question about reconciliation, payments or another use case. It does not establish that a prospect has a problem, a budget or an active buying process.
How do we involve finance, operations and engineering?
Find the people whose work your product affects at the same account. Use finance’s business case, operations’ day-to-day process and engineering’s implementation questions to prepare different openings. OXYGEN connects company and contact research with email and LinkedIn outreach. Keep the people and their confirmed requirements linked in Records as the evaluation develops, rather than treating each person as an unrelated lead.
What carries over when the conversation becomes an evaluation?
Keep supported replies in Messages and save the confirmed requirements, open questions, people involved and next action with the account. Your sales and technical teammates can work from that shared context when another stakeholder joins. Workflows can connect reply handling and CRM updates. The illustration shows an example handoff; it does not claim that OXYGEN has qualified a real deal or booked a meeting for you.
Do we have to replace our CRM or email tools?
No. You can use OXYGEN’s native Records or keep HubSpot connected through bidirectional sync. Attio receives updates and Pipedrive can be imported; Salesforce sync is not available. Connect existing senders for email and LinkedIn sequences, or use managed sending infrastructure. The current integration catalog and pricing section explain the supported connections and the account, inbox and usage costs.
What should our first fintech campaign include?
Choose one product use case and one target market: for example, reconciliation for retailers operating across several countries. Build a small company list, inspect the research, find the relevant contacts and prepare the first approach. Tim’s allbound model keeps account sourcing, outreach and CRM follow-up connected. Use the free tier to inspect the workflow before expanding; managed data and sending usage consume credits.
