Ignore the 20 agent demos · they're all dead

We spent 3 weeks building the wrong product. Ignore all 20 agent demos you'll see on LinkedIn and X today. They're all dead. Here's why: → The big labs have 100x your resources. Anthropic and OpenAI will out-engineer any harness you ship in a weekend. → Users want to be at the frontier. Even when the task is shallow, they want the newest model shipped that week. → The tokenomics. $200/mo Max subscriptions are subsidized to a level you can't match through the API. Go API at scale and you're forced onto cheap Chinese open source models. Your users won't accept that. → Switching cost. GTM folks already AI-max inside Claude Code all day. They're not opening a second tab for your harness. UI is dead. Every application is a CLI or an MCP now. That's why we pivoted at OXYGEN. We killed our UI. Turned the agent into a Clay-like structure that plugs your GTM stack directly into Claude Code and Codex. (Clay's MCP is rough. That's another reason this exists.) If you're a startup, the only play left: 1. Pick a deep domain (GTM, legal, design, finance, ...). 2. Kill your UI. Ship CLI-based actions and MCP servers. 3. Make Claude Code and Codex 10x better at that one domain. 4. Layer in your own data, signals, and memory. That's where your moat lives. Then pray Anthropic and OpenAI don't go vertical into your domain. Adam Robinson caught it. He's pivoting to a CLI-based tool too. The big labs are sucking all the oxygen out of the market. But that's also the opportunity. Stop competing with them on harness. Enhance them inside a domain they'll never go deep on. Are you team Claude Code or Codex? And what are you building inside it?
