Signals & Inbound-Led Outbound

Georgi Signalbase Podcast

Georgi delivers the best signals to teams like HubSpot, Salesforge and CompanyEnrich.

I had him on the podcast for 40 minutes. Here are the 5 lessons I took away:

1) Access to signals isn't the advantage.

Everyone can buy the same evergreen signals. Funding, hiring, job changes, M&A. Same way everyone has Clay, Claude Code, and the internet. Doesn't make them a billionaire. The edge is how you turn a signal into a message, not owning it.

2) What's actually working: evergreen + custom signal.

Across the teams running their own outbound, this is the combo that drives replies. Evergreen tells you something happened. The custom signal is the one you build for your specific offer. The custom signal Georgi used to convert me: "they have a database, so their data is stale." That one line is why I pay him.

3) The signal that matters most is budget.

A funding round tells you who can actually spend right now. Doesn't matter how badly someone wants your product. No budget, no deal. This is also why you don't need volume. I told him my signals felt sparse, like 50 a month. His answer: do you really need more than 50.

4) Signal-based outbound is 3 steps.

Discovery, then context, then the offer. First you find them (or they find you). Then you pull the context around them. Then you test a hypothesis that uses that context as part of the pitch. Most people jump straight to the pitch.

5) Test manually before you scale.

Georgi ran connection messages by hand until he found the copy that actually drove replies. Only then did he think about infra. Most people build the engine before a single message works.
